1,464 commercial vehicles inspected by PSP in one-day effort

On October 20, 2010, Pennsylvania State Police issued 647 traffic citations and 1,217 written warnings to commercial truck drivers as part of Operation Safe. According to a press release from the PSP, the teams focused on vehicle inspection reports, logs of hours driven, and drivers seatbelt use and commercial licenses.

A total of 1,464 commercial vehicles were inspected. 87 trucks and 53 drivers were taken out of service.
